Editorial Process

Editorial Process

This page describes the path of a manuscript from submission to publication. Review is double-blind: the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other.

Stage What happens Who decides
1. Submission The author submits the manuscript through the journal platform, with the Similarity and AI Form completed (including the AI use declaration, or a statement that no AI was used). Author
2. Initial editorial check The editorial team checks scope, format, anonymization, the similarity report and the AI declaration. Similarity of 0–20 % proceeds; 21–30 % is reviewed by the editorial team; above 30 % the manuscript is rejected without peer review. Editorial Team
3. Double-blind peer review The manuscript is sent to two external reviewers with expertise in the subject. Reviewers evaluate it with the journal's review form and give a recommendation. Reviewers (recommend)
4. Editorial decision Based on the reviews, the decision is one of: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject. The decision and the reviewers' comments are sent to the author. Editor-in-Chief
5. Revision If revisions are requested, the author submits a revised manuscript with a response to each comment. A second round of review may follow, when the changes require it. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on acceptance. Author; Editor-in-Chief
6. Production Accepted manuscripts go through copyediting, layout and author proof correction. Editorial Team; Author
7. Publication The article is published in open access under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license, with no fees for authors or readers. Editorial Team

Independence: membership, sponsorship or institutional ties give no priority in this process. Editors and reviewers abstain from any manuscript in which they have a conflict of interest. See the Code of Ethics.
