Statement on Malpractice

The PanAmerican Journal of Digital Humanities & AI is a digital scientific journal with an editorial policy where the credibility and authenticity of published articles prevail. It establishes the following criteria that must be taken into account to prevent scientific misconduct when publishing a manuscript.

Guarantee of Rights and Originality:

  • Authors must ensure that the rights of the individuals involved in the research are respected.

  • Simultaneous submission of manuscripts to other journals is not permitted. The unpublished nature of the work must be certified through a signed communication.

Citation Manipulation and Authorship Conflicts:

  • The manipulation of citations, such as citing unconsulted sources or excessive self-citation, will be penalized.

  • Authors and editors must avoid authorship conflicts, such as ghost or undeserved authorship.

Misconduct and Scientific Ethics:

  • The duplication or fragmentation of manuscripts is considered scientific misconduct.

  • Authors, editors, and reviewers must ethically commit to the pursuit of truth and the use of scientific methods.

Ethical Responsibility in Publication:

  • Editors, reviewers, and authors must guarantee ethical practices in publication.

  • Breaches must be penalized, and a rigorous double-blind review process must be followed.

Reviewers must comply with the anti-plagiarism policy outlined in the ethical aspects of the PanAmerican Journal of Digital Humanities & AI. This policy includes the use of software to detect plagiarism levels and penalties for fabrication, data falsification, and intentionally altered images. The editor, acting as an intermediary between the author, the reviewer, and the readers, must select works that comply with the journal's current regulations and represent a contribution to the social sciences and the historical-social context. Subsequently, based on peer review, the editor will make the decision to reject or accept a manuscript.

Resolving Conflicts of Interest:

  • There must be no personal, professional, or financial relationship between the authors and the editors to ensure transparency and impartiality in publication.

  • Reviewers must immediately notify the editors of any conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality toward the manuscript and, if necessary, withdraw from the review process.

  • The interference of the sponsoring institution or organization in the editor's work by pressuring decision-making regarding the editorial process must be avoided.

Failure to comply with these elements constitutes scientific misconduct and must be reported and penalized.

Individuals accused of misconduct shall be protected against false or anonymous accusations, provided there is adequate evidence to investigate the matter.
